The Bullfighter
« Steve Dickson »
In days gone past they called you a clown
But there’s nothin’
fun when a bull runs you down
A ton of mad beef
throwin’ a fit
You have to jump in
there to take on the hit
Some think eight seconds goes by real quick
Son, it’s a long time
for a cowboy to stick
Most men don’t make
it for the whole ride
The good ones bear
down and just take it in stride
Climb in the chute and pray you’ll be there
When that rank bull
throws ‘em up high in the air
Buckin’, jumpin’ and
twistin’ around
That mean ol’ critter
wants ‘em down on the ground
So’s he can stomp and stick ‘em and gore
Until they can’t get
up at all any more
You’re in the middle
of that big storm
When both man and
beast are in rare fightin’ form
You have to lay your life on the line
To help those young
men and make sure they are fine
When the dust settles
at the day’s end
The bull riders all
know that you’re their best friend
